Diana, Princess of Wales, also known as Lady Di, was the first wife of Charles of Wales, the heir to the British Crown, with whom she had two children, William and Henry. Born into a British aristocratic family, she was the fourth daughter of John Spencer, 8th Earl of Spencer, and Frances Roche. He helped poor children in Africa, appeared alongside personalities such as Nelson Mandela, the Dalai Lama or Mother Teresa of Calcutta and also presided over numerous charitable foundations. Diana decided to take an active role as Princess of Wales instead of spending her hours in the palace. He was involved with a variety of causes, including AIDS patients, the elderly and people with addictions, leprosy and various health problems.
